Why join a club

Flying, without the full weight of ownership

Sole aircraft ownership is expensive and time-consuming. A flying club splits the cost, the maintenance headaches, and the hangar keys among a small group of pilots who actually fly together.

1

Reduced Ownership Costs

Crossroads Aviators is a non-equity flying club — no aircraft share to buy or sell, just simple membership. Fixed costs like insurance, hangar, annuals, and avionics upgrades are split across the group, making flying more economical and a great option for building time.

2

Camaraderie & Events

Fly-outs, hangar talks, safety seminars, and $100-hamburger runs. A flying club is a community first — pilots who look out for the airplane and for each other.

3

Grow Alongside Members

Network with knowledgeable members and CFIs to sharpen your skills, talk through proficiency questions, and keep learning.

Building Something New

Greenwood's first flying club

Indy South Greenwood Airport (KHFY) doesn't currently have a flying club — until now. We believe general aviation is at its best when it's a community, and we want to bring that community to our home airport: a place where members fly together, learn from each other, and look out for one another, not just book an airplane and go. Being first means we get to build that culture from the ground up, the right way.

Not a pilot (yet)? Join us anyway.

You don't have to hold a pilot certificate to be part of Crossroads Aviators. Sign up as a Club Associate to get invited to our social events and fly-outs, join our educational seminars, and stay connected with the club — no aircraft access or voting rights required.

The Aircraft

A classic airframe, modern panel

Our club aircraft is a 1977 Grumman Cheetah AA-5A — a fun, honest, low-wing single that's earned a reputation as a great cross-country and proficiency airplane. We've outfitted it with all-new Garmin avionics, headlined by a G3X glass display, so members fly a genuinely modern cockpit.

As the club grows, we plan to add aircraft to the fleet to keep availability high and dues reasonable.

A note on flight training: Crossroads Aviators is a social flying club, not a flight school, and we do not advertise or provide flight instruction as a club. Several of our members happen to be CFIs, and members are free to arrange instruction with them individually, outside the scope of club operations.
